Old Roman capital and Zasavica

Drive to Sremska Mitrovica - Sirmium , It was an ancient city and one of the four capitals of the Roman Empire. Sirmium has emerged at the confluence of the Sava and Bosut, at the southern slopes of Fruška Mount, in 1st century. It is assumed that it was founded by the Illyrians. Seven rulers of the Roman Empire were born in Sirmium and its surroundings. The city was the capital of the Roman Empire in 3rd entury during the reign of Gallery.

Visit of the nature reserve Zasavica - Zasavica is protected as a Special Nature Reserve in order to preserve the natural streams and wetlands with a wide variety of flora and fauna, natural rarities and endangered species. In addition to serious scientific research of amateur ornithologists and other nature lovers the reserve offers the possibility of Bird watching. Zasavica is also the reserve of the European beaver, Balkan and Banat donkey, Podolian cattle and old-breed pigs Mangalitza.
