About us

BOREAS TRAVEL team gathered at the end of 2013 as a fulfillment of year’s long planning project. Company merged team of experienced but young team in tour operator business, coach transport company, and incoming and guide educational team.

This construction made strong company, which is really dedicated to moving standards in Serbian tourism. We are inventors, developers of new ideas, we are new power on Balkan market!

We use best practice and experience in traditional tourism business, but we invent new ways so we can enjoy together with our clients.


Our knowledge about Serbian destinations is developed through years long practice of conducting tours, and making connections with locals. This way we established trust of our partners, warm welcome from locals in Serbia and many smiles by satisfied travelers.

That is how we made the SERBIAN DREAM, welcoming dream that will show Serbia to all world travelers.

We believe that among chosen destinations everybody will find something for themselves - those who an adventure and those who want a relaxing holiday.

There is much for those who, by departing on a trip, desire answers on many questions, and for those who want to return with handful of new ones...

Serbia is located at the crossroads between Central and Southern Europe, on the Balkan Peninsula. The country covers a total of 88,361 km². Its terrain consists of Pannonian plain in the North, green hills intersected by rivers in the central part and mountain ranges on the West and Southeast. The beautiful Djerdap gorge is situated on the East, between Serbia and Romania. The climate in Serbia is mild continental with the Mediterranean influence.

Serbia is a country of rich ecosystem and species diversity - it's abundance of mountains and rivers make it an ideal environment for a variety of animals, many of which are protected. There are five national parks in the country. Europe’s second largest river Danube passes through Serbia with 588 km of length and represents the largest source of fresh water. You can safely drink water from the tap in Serbia.

The total population of Serbia makes about 7.5 million people. Around 1.6 million live in the capital, Belgrade, which is among Europe's oldest cities and one of the largest in Southeast Europe.

Serbia is one of religiously diverse European countries, with the Christian Orthodox majority, and a Catholic and Islamic minority.

The official language is Serbian, member of the South Slavic group of languages. Serbian is the only European language with active digraphia, using both Cyrillic and Latin alphabets. English is spoken mostly by the locals in cities while in rural areas it might not be the case.

The official currency is Serbian Dinar – RSD.

There are two international airports in Serbia – Nikola Tesla Airport in Belgrade and Constantin the Great in the city of Nis. The national carrier is Air Serbia which operates flights to all the major European cities and has connecting flights to the rest of the world.

The road network in Serbia is strategically important as it connects continental Europe with the Asia Minor and Near East. The major railroad goes from Belgrade to Bar in Montenegro and there are also ones connecting Serbian capital with other European cities. Serbia has also got a developed inland water transport with many navigable rivers and canals among which the Danube river is the most important as it connects Serbia with Northern, Western and Eastern Europe as well as the Black sea. Transfers in Serbia are possible by car, buses or trains and you can find taxis available in the cities and tourist centers.
